Starting point: having passed the Sant Miquel d’Engolasters Church up to the 6 km point, you get to a small car park where you can leave your vehicle. In front of you, you’ll see the starting point of the Les Fonts Circuit (42º 31' 2.8452", 1º 34' 15.3228").

The route follows a wide track which goes along the flat for a while. You’ll pass through a small tunnel and just after that you’ll get to a vantage point with some amazing views over Andorra la Vella and Escaldes-Engordany. The track continues until you get to a picnic area, the start of the Camí dels Matxos (mule track) which climbs up towards the south. After a few minutes, bear off, leaving the path to your right that would take you to the Font de la Closa. Continue climbing upwards until you reach the mountain pass, Coll Jovell. This is the highest point of the route with views over the Madriu Valley.

Go back down along the Camí dels Matxos for 50 metres until you come to the crossroads taking you left to go down the Costa de l'Avet path until you get to the picnic area and the Font de la Closa. Continue along the forest track and you’ll soon reach the road. At this point you’ll find the UNDR sculpture by the artist Josep Cerdà i Ferré.

When you get to the CS200 road, bear left and keep going until you arrive at the group of refuges known as the Bordes d’Engolasters. Here, follow the cobblestone path that passes between the bordes and walk through the forest until you get to a crossroads. Go right, following the yellow dots to the road that will take you downhill for a few metres until you find the Camí del Cortalet path on the left.

Go up here along a wide and gentle path that will take you to the crossroads of the Les Fonts Circuit, where you will bear left towards the Engolasters Lake. Continue along the path until your reach the starting point of this route.

For your safety, we recommend you do the routes at altitudes of over 1,700 metres between the end of June and the end of September. However, if the weather and terrain conditions allow it, the season may extend from May to October.

You will find further details of this and other routes in the Hiking guide Trails of Andorra.
