The Les Pardines / Llac de Engolasters route is one of the most famous and recommended family routes in Andorra because its change of elevation, difficulty and natural setting make it perfect for the entire family, or just to enjoy a mountain bike route that is accessible to users at any technical level. To avoid the climb from Encamp along the Cortals de Encamp motorway, you can start this circular route, which is 8.5 km long with 55 m total change of elevation, from the parking area located at the start of the Les Pardines motorway, which you can reach from the Cortals de Encamp motorway.

You’ll find an information point and equipment rentals (only in the summer) in the car park. Once you’re equipped, you can start your route by heading to the dirt trail that will take you to Lake Engolasters. Along this stretch, you’ll find lots of lookout points where you can enjoy amazing views of the parish. We recommend that you take a minute or two to enjoy them.

Once you have reached Lake Engolasters, a family tourism zone, you’ll find restaurants and activities particularly targeted at children. Next to the dam is Bosc Aventura park, which offers a number of Tarzan vines and zip-lines. The guided tours led by the Electricity Museum to show you around the lake’s dam, which is 178 metres long and essential to energy production in Andorra, are another interesting stop-off. The dam was built in 1934 by Andorran Hydroelectric Forces (FHASA), now known as FEDA, and has the largest waterfall in Andorra.

There are several signposted mountain bike routes around the lake. You can take the main one that goes around the entire lake without posing any technical difficulty, helping you to enjoy the natural environment to the full.

Once you’ve gone round Lake Engolasters, go back to the Camí de les Pardines to end your route at the starting point, the car park near the Cortals area.

The route takes 45 minutes to complete. Suitable for mountain biking and e-bikes.
