Andorra's traditional markets and events

Andorra offers unique and attractive shopping events

Do you like shopping? Trade has always been one of the country’s driving forces. Over time, we have adapted to ongoing trends and vogues to offer you what's new at the most competitive prices.

And not just that. We always strive to offer you the best. Andorra therefore hosts some unique, one-of-a-kind events for you to enjoy great experiences throughout the year. Medieval fairs, traditional markets, and local celebrations at which to find not only the  country’s best handicrafts and products, but also a relaxed atmosphere with live music and  activities for all the family.

Music, cuisine and workshops

The parish of La Massana offers a range of events throughout the year. The two most unique, however, are the Serenalla Marquet, a multidisciplinary event for promoting personal wellness and sustainability, at which to buy natural products, relax, take creativity workshops, and taste local culinary products, etc.; and the Comapedrosa Pitavola, a popular festival that celebrates the creation of the Comapedrosa Natural Park, 20 years ago. This festival features a market of local products and a range of activities for showcasing the natural park’s environment. Lastly, there is also a night-time tour of cuisine and different workshops and activities to round the day off.

Fairs and markets in the capital

If you like traditional markets, do not miss Andorra’s Mercat de la Vall. It is held in the historic centre of Andorra and is a place to find items such as the best creative handcrafted articles, natural cosmetics and local products. This market  is held from May to October on the first Saturday of each month. Another of the capital’s standout events is the Andorra la Vella Fair, which takes place in autumn and over the years has become a benchmark in the Pyrenean region. It covers a range of sectors and offers the latest in leisure, healthy lifestyles, sport and motor. The Andorra la Vella Fair is held in the capital’s Parc Central and is open to everyone.

Middle Ages and handicrafts in Sant Julià de Lòria

The parish of Sant Julià de Lòria, meanwhile, is the site of the Medieval Fair, an event that will delight lovers of the Middle Ages. The whole town is transformed with medieval costumes and decorations to carry you back to the Middle Ages. Endless stalls line the main street. They sell items of jewellery, clothing, and such a variety of crafted products that it is hard to make a choice: home-made preserves, cheese, sausages, and a range of mouth-watering sweets! All this accompanied with mediaeval music and a host of activities and workshops to enjoy with the family.

Traditional markets at Christmas

If you visit us at Christmastime, do not miss our traditional Christmas markets and fairs. The streets are dressed in magic and a myriad of colours to welcome one the most highly anticipated festivals of the year, particularly by the family’s little ones.
In Andorra we also love Christmas and celebrate it in style!

Andorra la Vella Christmas Market

The heart of Andorra la Vella is the site of the Christmas Village, a unique little village with wooden houses and an atmosphere that will carry you off to the north and to Lapland itself. One particular feature of the Christmas Village is the traditional Christmas Market, which has numerous stalls at which to buy the  best handicrafts and local products, and to enjoy a variety of shows, music and activities!

Crafts, tasting and live music in Escaldes-Engordany

The “Flavours of Advent” Christmas market in Escaldes-Engordany, which is held from the start of December to the middle of the month, offers not only traditional handicraft stalls, but also a chance to taste dishes created by the best local chefs, all brightened up with live music.

The traditional Santa Llúcia fair

An event held every year is the traditional fair of Santa Llúcia. Although the Feast of Saint Lucy falls on the 13th, the fair has been extended to last until Christmas. There is a range of stalls at which to find all kinds of items to decorate and liven up your home. Visit the fair in Encamp, Ordino and Sant Julià de Lòria.

BUT THERE’S STILL MORE…

As well as all of this, Andorra offers a broad, varied range of trade and suggestions often linked to culinary events, to give you the best shopping experience.
