Are you thinking of setting out on a long-distance hike in Andorra? If so, then let us give you another reason to get excited. We wanted to reward you for your effort by giving you a certificate that demonstrates not just your persistence, but also your knowledge of Andorra’s natural heritage. Want to know more? Then keep reading!
In order to accredit your long-distance route, you'll need a refuge passport, a document that certifies that you have completed one of the GR routes – whether the GRP, GR7 or GR11 – and stopped in every one of the refuges along the way. All you have to do is stamp the corresponding box with the marker that you’ll find inside each refuge. Once all the boxes have been filled for the route, just visit the Andorra la Vella Tourist Information Office and present the completed passport. Once there, you'll be asked to fill in a short questionnaire to check that you’ve actually completed the route and visited all the refuges and, once authorised, you will be given a certificate of achievement and a gift.
You can get your refuge passport free of charge from any tourist office in Andorra.
In addition, given that the mountain refuges are open all year long, we recommend completing this activity in the spring or summer months. If you decide to do it in winter, however, take special care and check the condition and access points of the route before heading out.
Get you refuge passport and prove that you’ve completed the GR!
