Would you like to enjoy a tasty barbecue with your friends or family at an altitude of over 2,200 metres? This is what the Llac Abelletes picnic area offers, situated at 2,258 metres above sea level, by the side of this lake that emerges at the end of the winter season, right on the border between Andorra and France. The cable car structure will remind you that this area is also a good place for skiing during the winter months.
The Llac Abelletes picnic area is well equipped, as are all those in Encamp. It has 8 barbecues and 4 circular stone tables surrounded by benches. Needless to say, rubbish containers are provided so that when you leave, everything will be just as you found it. Since this is a natural lake, the access is not paved and there is no paved parking on the lake shore, but this is available only a few hundred metres away. The nearest town is Pas de la Casa, and other rest areas in the parish are Grau Roig and Port d’Envalira.
Before visiting a picnic site, check its status at the tourist information office of the parish in question.
In the event of an incident, call 112.
