It can hold up to 6 people and is at an altitude of 2,050 metres. The Pla de l’Estany Hut was opened in 1981 and has a private room only for shepherds and foresters and another open to the public, a small but cosy room with bunks, table, fireplace and benches. There is a spring 20 metres from the hut. You get there just as you do to Comapedrosa. You leave Arinsal on foot along the GR11 to the fork. From here follow the path, leaving behind the GR11 which goes to the Comapedrosa mountain hut. The route takes about two hours and climbs 430 metres. The time is of medium difficulty. The hut is not guarded and is open all year, but it is usually maintained in the summer months (cleaning, firewood, first aid kits...). There is a mobile phone signal.
