Church of Sant Corneli i Sant Cebrià
Location and contact
Inside it preserves a Romanesque polychrome wood bust of Our Lady from the late 11th century and early 12th century. This image of the virgin is one of the smallest in the principality and is only 44 cm tall. It also has five baroque altarpieces (17th and 18th centuries), dedicated to the patron saint of the church. All the bars on the church date back to the 17th and 19th centuries and come from the forges of Ordino owned by influential families of the time, such as Casa Rossell and Casa d’Areny-Plandolit. Outside Sant Corneli i Sant Cebrià, in the square itself, there is a small porch that was used for ceremonies of protection against storms.
We can see the church on a stroll through the old part of the village, and visit the Casa d’Areny-Plandolit etymological museum, the only example of a stately home in Andorra, or the Postal Museum, where an audio-visual will explain the beginnings of the postal service in the principality and show us a large collection of stamps issued in Andorra.
