In winter, Andorra is a constant party. Not just because there are more than 300 km of slopes, or because we have the largest and most important ski resort in Europe (bot of which are also true), but because this season we’re once again hosting the Finals of the 2023 Alpine Ski World Cup! From 13 to 19 March, the best skiers in the world will come together to take home the medal! Take note of the dates and don’t miss a single detail.
Activities in the snow during the finals
During the week of 13 March, the streets of Soldeu and El Tarter will be the meeting point for thousands of ski fans. No wonder, given that it is in these two sectors of Grandvalira Resorts Andorra that the most eagerly awaited sporting event of the year will take place: the Finals of the 2023 Alpine Ski World Cup! Grandstands with a total capacity of almost 3000 seats will be set up, among other facilities.
Although we know that the most important moment will be on the competition slopes, we would also like to remind you that there are lots of other options to top off your day in the snow: Grandvalira will be open in its entirety so that young and old alike can enjoy the host of activities each resort has to offer like never before. Fun is guaranteed!
But that’s not all. When the resort closes, the party is just getting started. The trendiest places in each area are waiting to offer you the best après-ski atmosphere. The undisputed star in this arena is undoubtedly L’Abarset. Located in the same sector, El Tarter, you’ll enjoy live music sessions from the country’s best DJs, while you relax and have a drink with your loved ones.
New this season, the resort will host the Elrow Snowrow, Friends & Family Festival. A music and leisure event that will feature different play areas, entertainment, concerts and sessions by renowned international DJs, for all ages. You won’t want to go home!
And for kids…
As well as being the largest ski resort in southern Europe, Grandvalira Resorts Andorra also stands out for its wide range of activities for children. Distributed across different areas, children can go down the Màgic Gliss or free fall on Quickflight, at Mon(t) Magic in Canillo; build igloos in the Grau Roig area; or, if you’re looking for an extra adrenaline rush, snow tubing in Pas de la Casa is a must for the whole family: with a 350 m route, you’ll slide down the longest tubing slope in Europe! If you’re looking for something a bit quieter, you can also go snowshoeing, ski mountaineering or, if you’re animal lovers, mushing.
Last but not least, for younger children there are also snow gardens, with skiing lessons for all levels.
It’s not all about snow, though...
Snow is, of course, Andorra’s biggest winter attraction. We do, however, also have so many other suggestions that you won’t be able to fit them all in! You can stroll along our streets and enjoy a pleasant shopping afternoon, discover Andorra’s rich cultural heritage, lose yourself in one of our fairytale villages and more. If you want to continue the fun, in Canillo there is Palau de Gel, an ice palace where you can not only skate on an Olympic rink, but you can also have a go at broomball, play a game of hockey or, if you prefer to get your adrenalin pumping, go karting on ice!
Pamper yourself!
Finally, after so much excitement, activities and laughter, it’s time to relax, take a break and pamper your body and mind. There are various spas and wellness centres in the country where you can unwind and pamper yourself. Among them, Caldea is a visit not to be missed. Not just because there are many specialised spas to choose from in a single centre - including Inúu, an adults-only spa, or Likids, the only children’s spa in Andorra - or because it offers some of the best beauty and care treatments in the country; but also because the waters that flow in its lagoons, jacuzzis and pools are completely thermal. A host of benefits that your skin and body will thank you for!
