Andorra's official currency is the euro and you'll find plenty of banks and cash points throughout the country.

Andorra has three main banks, Andbank, Creand and MoraBanc, each of which has an extensive network with branches and cashpoints found in every parish.

At Andorran banks you can withdraw money using most common bank cards, both credit and debit, such as Visa, Mastercard and American Express, among others.

You can pay by card at all kinds of shops, accommodation and leisure establishments.

THE EURO AND MONEY EXCHANGE IN ANDORRA

The euro (€) has been the official currency of Andorra since it was introduced in 2002. Prior to this, both the Spanish peseta and the French franc were considered legal tender.

In 2011, Andorra signed a monetary agreement with the European Union which allowed the Principality to issue Andorran euros starting in 2014. Andorra boasts the distinction of being the only country that mints euros with four different designs:

You can exchange foreign currencies at bank branches.
