To find out more
From the early 17th to the end of the 19th century, iron was one of the most important economic activities in the principality.
In Llorts Mine, you will see the process of how iron evolved and transformed from the prospection and extraction of the ore to its preparation and production at the Farga Rossell Forge in la Massana.
You will follow a route 30 metres into the tunnels of the mine, full of history and cultural wealth. Llorts Mine is also on the Iron route, where you will see other monuments such as the sculptures of the Iron men, the Church of Sant Martí de la Cortinada and the former road of the arrieros.
An ideal walk to do with children because the route is easy, pleasant and very flat.
You can only visit from June to October.
