To get to the start of the route, we will take the CS-140 from Sant Julià de Lòria to Fontaneda. This road will lead us to the chapel of Sant Mateu del Pui d’Olivesa, one of the smallest and oldest churches in Andorra (documented from 985). We start our walk in the centre of the village of Fontaneda, following the path marked with three yellow spots that we will find at the top of the village, and we will climb the mountain over meadows to the track leading to the Borda del Gastó, where we will turn right and go towards the river Mosseres.

From this point, the path goes through the forest, climbing the Palleró until it reaches a forest track which will take us to the mountain pass. We return the same way we came, or we might also provide a vehicle at the arrival to come back down the CS142, to the place where we started.

The route starts at Fontaneda (42° 27' 14",01° 27' 48").

For your safety, we recommend you do the routes at altitudes of over 1,700 metres between the end of June and the end of September. However, if the weather and terrain conditions allow it, the season may extend from May to October.

You will find further details of this and other routes in the Hiking guide Trails of Andorra.
