Ordino is one of the seven parishes that make up the Principality of Andorra, and it is one of the best holiday destinations. This is all thanks to the variety of interesting cultural options and natural attractions it has to offer. What is Ordino like?
This parish is located in the east of Andorra, at an altitude of 1,300 metres, and it spreads over 90 km². Did you know that a third of this area is wooded? All this makes for a landscape that is sure to take your breath away. Among the Pyrenean mountains, you will find some of the prettiest towns in the entire country. There are eight towns in total: Ansalonga, Arans, El Serrat, La Cortinada, Llorts, Segudet, Sornàs and the capital itself, Ordino.
The rural surroundings are characterised by the unmistakable Andorran architecture. Stone houses with slate roofs blend into the wild natural beauty. Without a doubt, this parish is the perfect destination for you to forget your worries and get in touch with the simpler, more rustic side of you.

Discover the towns
The enchanting little towns of Ordino are home to some authentic architectural gems. For example, the church of Sant Corneli and Sant Cebrià, which dates from medieval times; or the church of Sant Martí in La Cortinada. The latter is a great example of Andorran romanesque style.
Between Llorts and La Cortinada, you will be able to walk around the Iron Men sculptural ensemble and visit the Llorts mine, which are central elements of the Iron Route. An ode to nature, and to the history of Andorra's iron and steel industry.
Visit museums
This parish has a very interesting range of museums where you can satisfy your curiosity. These include the Casa d’Areny-Plandolit Museum, the Miniatures Museum and the Postal Museum, all of which are located in the centre of Ordino.
If you prefer unique museums, don't miss out on Cal Pal, a space for art-related reflection and debate, cultural creation and Andorra's cultural and natural heritage, which also offers temporary exhibitions, courses and workshops. It is located in La Cortinada, near the church of Sant Martí, next to the Cal Pal Mill and Saw Works.
Explore the surroundings
The unrivalled beauty of the Ordino landscape invites you to explore it. The Tristaina Lakes are one of the most magical spots. Located in the Arcalís area, the three high-mountain lakes can be discovered via three different walking routes. From the Ordino Arcalís ski resort, you will be able to go up in a cable car and a chairlift, as far as the Tristaina Viewpoint. This is located on the peak of Peyreguils, at an altitude of 2,701 metres, just a few metres from the geographical border between Andorra and France. The peak is part of the Tristaina cirque, and it offers magnificent 360º views that are truly spectacular. Needless to say, you can also climb up on foot!
Another spectacular space is the Vall de Sorteny Nature Park. Having been declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, it has more than a thousand hectares brimming with native flora and fauna. You will be enthralled by its impressive floral riches, which truly make it a botanical garden.
Sporting activities
Don't like to sit still? Fantastic! The unique surroundings of this Andorran parish allow you to do lots of different sporting activities. Without a doubt, Ordino Arcalís is a must-visit.
